I was very excited when the previews first came out for the film, but after seeing it, I’m not sure where I stand. It did indeed have great moments, like baby Groot with a death button… but we had already seen that in the previews. The movie opens with a great dance that has Groot dancing around, but it seemed very drawn out and much longer than it needed to be. The film was good in that it answered a lot of questions that fans had after the first one. Then there was the music. There are certain songs that were used in the first film that whenever I hear them now the scene from the movie jumps into my head. Not with this one. The music they had in this film was lack luster and many times didn’t really go with the scenes. It was very disappointing since I think the music really made the first movie strong. Whoever pick it for this one really didn’t do a good job. I can only hope they get someone new to do that for the next movie. Overall, this movie was just eh. If you’re a Marvel fan I would tell you to see it if nothing else for the information that they give us. Also instead of just having one scene during the credits there were several little ones. Let’s see what “Adam” will bring in the next film. 7/10

The Previews:

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets: The graphics alone for this movie make me want to see it. This movie is based off of a French comic and it will be interesting to see the story adapted to the big screen.

Thor: Ragnarok: All the different creatures for this movie look amazing. You can tell the creature designers worked overtime on this one. Very excited, but I hope they cover how the characters get into the positions that were shown in the preview.


Star Wars: The Last Jedi: A total tease and really doesn’t show much….

Jason Isaacs as the new captain…? Not sure about a new series right now since the movies are doing so good unless they get the reboot cast to do a new series. I have a love/hate relationship with the Star Trek t.v. series. I know a lot of people didn’t like Star Trek Voyager even though I did. It was Deep Space Nine that I didn’t like. So I’m kind of all over the board when it comes to Star Trek. I’ll give it at least a couple of episodes before I make a final decision. Let’s see what Isaacs can do.

StarFest 2017

April 21 st -23 rd I waited awhile to do my review of this con because of how bad of a taste it left in my mouth. I have been going to Star Fest for most of my life and this was the worst time I have had there. I was only able to make it on Saturday, but that was enough to give me a taste of the con for this year. Hotel: Denver Marriott DTC I have been to many conventions at this hotel including when NDK used to be here.  Past issues with this hotel have included lack of food options nearby and bad parking options. They just completed a huge remodel and things are worse. The parking is now blocked off and you have to pay for parking in the hotel lot which in the past you didn’t. It used to be that if you got there early you were rewarded with free parking… not any more. Also they have limited their handicap parking. THIS IS MY ISSUE! I go to most cons with my mother who has physical disabilities. With the current parking set up we were forced to park across the stree...
